Only 40 mins to the east from the city centre lies Lysterfield Park. At the heart is Lysterfield Lake but scattered around it is an awesome network of mountain bike trails!
We start with a warm up lap around the lake to get the blood flowing and for those first timers, to get familiar with the bike. There's a cool little skills park that we'll play around on to get you acquainted with some of the obstacles we can find on the trails. After a few sessions here, we grab a snack and get ready to embark on larger loop of the park.
This is where we get into the nitty gritty of the single tracks of the park and the essence of what mountain biking is all about. The trails are scattered with logs, roots, rocks, a few jumps and drops here and there and as much up hill medaling as there is down hill. The trails weave through sections of an old gumtree planation and natural bush of these hills. Tuck into some well deserved lunch on the banks of the lake before heading back to the city.
